Wordless Wednesday

SUPER DRAGON ROLL

I love Japanese food and I was glad that a resto called Kyoto Japanese Steak House finally opened in our town. This dish is just one of the fabulous dishes I love to order in the menu.

Wordless Wednesday - Boiled Lobster

BOILED LOBSTER

This is boiled lobster I got from Poor Boy's Gourmet resto in Bar Harbor, Maine where we spent the long Memorial Day weekend. Lobster is the main star of the seafood cuisine in Maine and there are so many ways lobsters are prepared. But I love the ordinary boiled lobster the most because I can taste the natural sweetness of the meat, oh so yummy! We came home with two big live lobsters that we made into lobster rolls.

Wordless Wednesday - Oysters on Half Shells

OYSTERS ON HALF SHELLS

After our stroll in NH over the weekend, we found this seafood place in Peabody, MA called Seawitch Restaurant. They've got a very nice ambiance, very courteous servers, and of course decently priced sumptuous food. I was lucky to get a shot of this succulent oysters dish before they were gobbled up. Eaten with freshly squeezed lemon and marinara sauce, yummy!

Wordless Wednesday - Chicken Quesadilla

CHICKEN QUESADILLA
I often order this shareable starter at Red Robin. It's flour tortilla filled with tender, juicy chicken breast, mushroom, hickory-smoked bacon, Pepper-Jack & Cheddar cheese, fresh cilantro and tomatoes - yummy! The starter includes chipotle beans, salsa, freshly prepared guacamole and sour cream on the side.

Wordless Wednesday - Pasalubong

PASALUBONG
Pasalubong is the Tagalog term for goodies brought by visiting relatives. Here are some of the sweets sent by my family back home through my cousins who visited last month. I miss this kind of food and I could have gobbled them up in one sitting if I was not worried about gaining weight, lol. I gave away some to friends.

Wordless Wednesday- Fettucine with Chicken & Sun-Dried Tomatoes

FETTUCINE WITH CHICKEN & SUN-DRIED TOMATOES

I am a pasta lover and I love eating and making just about any pasta dish. This Fettucine with Chicken and Sun-Dried Tomatoes is a pasta lunch I ordered at Cheesecake Factory. The sun-dried tomatoes add even more flavor to the already tasty sauce.

Wordless Wednesday - Fried Apples

FRIED APPLES
We love eating breakfast at Cracker Barrel on Saturdays and Fried Apples is one of the side dishes that I order often. Cracker Barrel is where you find good country style home cooking prepared from scratch. I also love that I can shop some goodies in their old country store after a satisfying meal.

Wordless Wednesday - Lemon Tart

LEMON TART

Whenever we dine out, I never get hold of the dessert menu at all. I don't usually have room for it anymore because American servings are usually humongous. But in China Pearl, a Chinese resto that we frequent almost every week for their delicious dimsum, I always get the chance to have a dessert or two. I love dimsum not only for their yummy taste but also for their small servings so I don't over-indulge (yeah right! if I can help it that is;-)) The last time we were there, I had this yummy Lemon Tart.

Wordless Wednesday - Cactus Blossom

CACTUS BLOSSOM
This is the appetizer we had on Valentine's Day at Texas Roadshow. A Texas-sized onion, hand-battered, golden fried and served with special Cajun Horseradish Sauce. Really crunchy and tasty.
